In response to the questions posted by Mr Wayne, the camping regulations are correct. The USFS does enforce these regulations in the Hot Springs area. Up canyon from the hotsprings on the PCT , you will likely encounter nobody. Deep Creek canyon is remote and rugged and common sense is urged for all who travel the backcountry. I have backpacked the PCT and have never been hassled by Ranger or wildlife in the upper reaches of the Devil's Hole country. There is some great fly fishing along the way but check the regulations. Barbless flys, catch and release with a two fish limit I believe. So if backpacking is your thing, go for it. If not, a day hike has the option of car camping at the Bowen Ranch or BLM lands on the desert side, or using the Bradford Ridge trail from the mountain side.
