Re: Deep Creek

Dear Gentlepersons:

This letter is to express our concerns for the future public use of Deep Creek and Deep Creek Hot Springs as may be affected by the designation of Deep Creek as a Special Interest Area and/or a Wild and Scenic River.

Deep Creek is a special place to many people and home to many species. We ask that consideration be given to allowing continued public access and enjoyment of this beautiful area which brings peace to many human beings as consideration is being given to these proposed designations.

We realize that human access has an affect on the environment and must be evaluated. We ask you to consider every avenue to allow continued human access while protecting the environment.

People have been a part of Deep Creek for hundreds of years. The Indians most likely consider Deep Creek to be a sacred place. Human beings need places such as Deep Creek to maintain their peace of mind and sanity in this pressured world we live in.

The many people who love Deep Creek would like to participate in the process to find a balance between man and nature. A substantial number of these people have labored over the years to keep the area clean and to remind others to respect this beautiful area.

Please notify Deep Creek Hot Springs, Inc. of any public meetings concerning these issues. We want to inform interested people so that they may attend. Thank you.
