I know in the previous storm to this one, the local Daily Press said that water was going over the spillway of the Silverwood Lake dam because the lake was full and it could hold no more flood waters. They probably drained off some of the lake to prepare for this most recent storm system. Today we had numerous Thunderstorms with lightning around in the Victor Valley in the late afternoon, with heavy downpours seen under the storms. The weather looked like what you would see during the summer months with monsoon type moisture. Odd to see in February.
