New Forest Service plan will be coming out in the fall. There are several proposals for the Deep Creek area. One of those proposals shows the area designated as wilderness which would mean foot access only from the border of the wilderness. A much longer hike. I just received a report from a friend who attended the Forest Service meeting this evening. When I receive more details, you will be informed. In the meantime, you really should contact the forest service yourself and request information, maps, etc.
