Hot Springs Access?

I was skimming these posts and incorrectly identified Laughing Bear as the source of information on the sale of Summit Valley.

As to complaints, I think it necessary to stick to the facts, and that was the intent of my previous posting.

Mike Castro faces two threats to his toll concession. The obvious one is Moss Mill Rd., currently closed.

The other threat is the Las Flores property. It was originally targeted for BLM land acquisition at the same time BLM acquired the Moss Mill Rd. property. However, the Las Flores deal did not go through because it was interupted by their bankruptcy declaration.

Convenient access is currently provided by Mike's toll road and the BLM supports that monopoly. (Note that it was off the table in WEMO, despite being recorded in the Federal Register as an open route pending WEMO finalization.)

The Moss Mill Rd. acquisition assured the public of convenient access should they demand it. In the event that Mike closes his toll road, there would likely be a renewed outcry for opening Moss Mill Rd. (Expect him not to make that move until WEMO is put to bed.)

If the public presses for re-opening Moss Mill Rd. or if the Las Flores property finds a private buyer, the current toll road will lose its value.
