Anyone take the "Dam Trail" recently?
I last went 2 years ago, and parked near the base of the spillway. I took Deep Creek Rd to the end, and then on some barely-even-dirt roads up to the spillway, which was of course blocked off.
Can I still go this route? Or is it going to be muddy / etc on those dirt roads? Any difficulty crossing the mojave on Rock Springs Road?
Or, am I better off going the 173 route, and hiking the extra mile across the top of the dam?
What is the parking situation for that trailhead?
