Hello Paul :-) I have been using terraserver.microsoft.com and it goes down to one meter resolution. It covers the United States and Alaska. I click on " advanced find " , then " Place ", after which I enter a city near what I want to see. Once you find the area you wish to look at and get down to the best resolution, then use the " size " feature and click on the biggest square to get even a better image. I use a pair of reading glasses to see even more detail. Its been a real help for me in finding places, like springs, and finding a good route to them.
