The small object my wife found does very definitely look melted on one side. Black and shiny like a torch had been put to it. The opposite side looks like black rock and does not look melted. She found it way up in Granite Mountains, away from any human activity. It is small, about as big as a half dollar coin and about a quarter inch thick. One of these days maybe I'll get a chance to show it to someone who can tell what it really is. I'd like to see that meteorite in Barstow. Is that the one they had to lift out of a canyon with a helicopter?
