Speaking of selling, The BLM just auctioned off a huge piece of public land in Lincoln County, Nevada to a private development corperation.

The BLM has a responsibility to manage our public lands. The multiple use status of Juniper Flats has been in existance for decades. The root of our problems up here is a lack of designated route signage and a disregard for the law by mainly OHV intrests. Many do abide by the rules but sadly, a great number do not. Multiple use does not mean ride a motocycle wherever it can go. Juniper Flats is designated Limited Multiple Use.

Juniper Flats property owners also own property within an active cattle lease. This group includes the owner of Katrina's DCHS inc headquarters on Andes Trail and a publicly erected fence seperates this land from federal in order to keep the cattle on the range. This is a good use of tax dollars generated by the cattle lease in my opinion.

Chaos reigns on Juniper Flats due to the lack of a management effort by the BLM. Recreational users need to be aware of open routes to use and enforcement is needed to manage those who chose to do whatever they want regardless of the law.
