Based on the previous thread on this subject I have made several modifications but maybe not enough. Before I post the revised brochure I would like to briefly mention the changes that I have made and indicate why I have not made others.
Paul P. had suggested I make a reference to the steepness of the trail and Laughing Bear to the road perils (I was not sure if jokingly or not). I have not made these changes at this time as I am assuming the brochure will initially be handed out at the springs so that they will already be aware of the trail and road.
DCR pointed out to keeping the group cohesive and AZ Mike suggested the process was going two slowly. Hopefully we can move faster and mantain cohesiveness by meeting in person. In one of the other threads Sycamore Laughing and AZ Mike mention that they will be at the springs on Saturday 24th. Would it be possible if this month we meet on the 24th. instead of the 31st. that would be the last Saturday?
Wizard had asked for additional time for suggestions, and I feel that the more than two weeks has been quite ample time. Just my opinion.
Paul P. and I would like a logo, I am requesting contributions on the last sentence of the brochure.
In general I found that most comments were an overall endorsement with the exception of the repetitiveness or duplication that Paul P. and several other people pointed out. I have tried to reduce this considerably and I also added the education issue to the MS that DCR pointed out. However, I am not sure if I have gone far enough. Although the brochure got a little shorter, I added the information from the USFS brochure Katerina posted recently as well as some contact information that we will need in there at the very end. This took us back to the original length.
Rick, one of the ways to contact us would be through your website. Do I have your permission to include the web address to the forum on the brochure?
Please feel free to give me any feedback you feel approriate, however in order to obtain more precise feed back I would like each of you to respond to these questions after you read the brochure that will be in the next post.
1) Do you feel that the curent version is ready to present to Ranger Brad?
2) One option to make the brochure shorter would be to exclude the "Objectives" and "How Do We Help" sections. The reason to do so would be these sections are targeted towards people already commited to this group while the rest is aimed at informing first timmers. Do you think we should exclude these two sections at this time?
3) I was thinking of removing the "How Can You Help" title and just dividing this section in two "USFS Regulations" and "Deep Creek Hot Sprongs Etiquette". Would you favor this change?
4) The no glass section is now repeated in the USFS section and in the etiquette section as I could not make up my mind. I was thinking of excluding it from the USFS section. Would this work for you?
5) Can you make the meeting on the 24th., 31st. or neither?
Well let me know what you all think.
