Hello everyone......Village life is always an adventure during El Nino and the rain continues to fall. Bowen Ranch Road has gone a la natural through the wash near the paradice ruins. Water is flowing from the old locust trees down to the big bend in the road that climbs up onto the flats. This doesnt faze the local traffic however as those "village cruisers" go right up the creek bald tires and all. Things are beyond muddy as the earth is completly saturated. Once the rains stop, look for the road through Paradice to become a big sand trap until the county gets a chance to fix it. Plenty of speed bumps are keeping the speed limit down and no dust has been reported for some time now.

Every cloud has a silver lining however. This is the time of year when the smell of Juniper burning in the woodstove mixes with the fresh clean mountain air. Pots of soup simmer while coffee pots bubble. The sound of rain on the roof compliments a good book read by the warmth of a woodstove. Rain sweet rain! The desert is alive and turning green with the promise of a colorful spring in the not too distant future.
