Tiki, Its really hard to say how many people you will find on any given day during these cooler months. I have noticed that over recent years there has been an increasing level of visitors at all times of the year. In the cool season there are alot more people in the pools for obvious reasons, its better to be soakin in a hot pool than sitting around in the cold. I was up there yesterday ( Saturday ) and there were about 15 to 20 people through out most of the day. At sunset I hiked out with my Munchkins and another springer who I had a nice long talk with while soaking and we were the last ones there. In the winter there's less daylight so I usually bring my lantern so I can stay as long as possible and then have good light for the hike out. A small sized lantern is really great for providing light for a small group of people while hiking. Its easy to carry, burns for a long time and if held out to your side gives you good light infront and behind you. When at the springs I put my lantern in a safe place to be sure not to get it broken since they do have a glass sheild. I usually wrap some clothing around it and put it out of harms way. While hiking out last night once we got mostly out of the canyon we came into the bright moonlight which was bathing the surrounding hills in its wonderful glow. The air was crystal clear with a few light clouds floating around. It was such a beautiful scene to see. The hotspringer who joined me on the hike out was amazed at how well my little munchkins hike. It was another fine day at the springs :-)
