That places you about 1.5 hours away from one of my favorite places, Secret Cove for el natural relaxation ... and my second favorite, the Flume Trail for mountain biking ... and my third, Heavenly for skiing. I personally find the annual fees for skiing in CA ridiculous though. When I lived in Boulder, CO back in 2004, as a resident of the state you could buy an annual ski package for $390. This included unlimited skiing at Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin and Keystone (great for night skiing) and 10 passes to Beaver Creek and Vail plus a subscription to Ski magazine. In CA the last time I checked they charged you at least 4 times that amount for a single resort and the snow is not nearly as good. Utah on the other hand ... sigh ... may be worth the extra cost with the best powder on this continent.
