The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) California Desert District Desert Advisory Council (DAC) announces an open application period for the West Mojave Route Network Project (WMRNP) Subgroup. Persons interested in serving on the subgroup in this capacity should have an interest and expertise in identifying a range of alternatives for the eight Travel Management Areas of the West Mojave Planning Area.

Expertise desired of the eight subgroup members may include experience with non-renewable resources, renewable resources (agriculture, grazing, energy), motorized recreation (off-highway vehicles), motor-dependent activities (hiking, camping, rockhounding), biological resources, non-biological resources (cultural, historical, air, visual) and two public-at-large.

All members of the DAC WMRNP subgroup will serve without salary and meet monthly until completion of the subgroup mission in the first quarter of 2014. All members of the subgroup will be required to disclose any direct or indirect interest in leases, licenses, permits, contracts, or claims that involve lands or resources administered by the BLM, or in any litigation related thereto. No subgroup member will participate in any matter in which the member has a direct financial interest. Selection and appointment of subgroup members is by the DAC with the concurrence of the designated federal official.

Persons wishing to apply for consideration as a member of the WMRNP subgroup of the DAC should submit their application to Teri Raml, BLM California Desert District manager, 22835 Calle San Juan De Los Lagos, Moreno Valley, CA 92553, no later than Feb. 6, 2012. The application and detailed information about the subgroup are available on the following web link: http://on.doi.gov/wPgzS9
