...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE 5500 FEET
WEDNESDAY...

.A COLD FRONT MOVING DOWN THE COAST TONIGHT WILL BRING RAIN AND
SNOW LATE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY. PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST TO REACH
THE SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS BETWEEN 3 AND 6 AM TONIGHT...THEN SPREAD
SOUTH INTO RIVERSIDE COUNTY EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. SNOW LEVELS
STARTING OUT ABOVE 6000 FEET WILL LOWER TO 5000 FEET WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON. 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED ABOVE 5500 FEET BY
WEDNESDAY EVENING...WITH HIGHEST AMOUNTS ABOVE 6500 FEET. VERY
STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THE FRONT WEDNESDAY. THE
COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS...FOG AND PERIODS OF SNOW WILL MAKE
TRAVEL HAZARDOUS IN THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE 5500 FEET. THE SNOW WILL
TAPER OFF WEDNESDAY EVENING.

WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 6 AM TO 9 PM PST WEDNESDAY.

* SNOW LEVELS: 6000 FEET LOWERING TO 5000 FEET BY WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...THEN TO 4000 FEET WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 4 TO 8 INCHES ABOVE 5500 FEET...WITH HIGHEST
SNOW AMOUNTS ABOVE 6500 FEET.

* TIMING: EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* WINDS: SOUTHWEST WINDS 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH.

* VISIBILITY: REDUCED BY SNOW...BLOWING SNOW AND FOG.

* IMPACTS: ROADS WILL BECOMING SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY ABOVE
6000 FEET WEDNESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
