...A FAST MOVING STORM WILL AFFECT SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA LATE TONIGHT
INTO SATURDAY...
A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE TONIGHT AND
EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. THIS WILL BRING AN INCREASING CHANCE OF RAIN
LATE TONIGHT ACROSS ORANGE...SAN BERNARDINO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE
COUNTIES. THE RAIN WILL MOVING INTO NORTHWEST SAN DIEGO COUNTY
AROUND DAYBREAK ON SATURDAY...THEN SPREAD SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE REST
OF THE COUNTY IN THE MORNING. THE RAIN WILL TAPER OFF SATURDAY
AFTERNOON.
RAINFALL TOTALS WILL RANGE FROM ONE QUARTER TO A MAX OF ONE HALF
INCH IN THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY COASTAL MOUNTAIN SLOPES. A TENTH
TO A QUARTER INCH IS FORECAST IN THE ORANGE...RIVERSIDE AND NORTHERN
SAN DIEGO COUNTIES...WITH A TENTH OF AN OR LESS IN THE SOUTHERN SAN
DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS.
IN THE COASTAL AND VALLEY ZONES THE RAIN TOTALS WILL BE HIGHEST IN
ORANGE COUNTY...THE INLAND EMPIRE AND NORTHWEST SAN DIEGO COUNTY
WHERE 0.10-0.20 INCHES IS FORECAST. LOWEST AMOUNTS WILL FALL NEAR
THE MEXICAN BORDER WHERE ONLY A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH IS
EXPECTED.
STRONG GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS SYSTEM IN THE MOUNTAINS
AND HIGHS DESERTS LATE TONIGHT AND SATURDAY. THE STRONGEST WINDS
WILL BE ACROSS THE SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS INTO THE HIGH DESERTS
WHERE WINDS FROM 15 TO 30 MPH WILL GUST TO 45 MPH AT TIMES.
