Re: Federal Recon Study

The reason for suggesting a recon study, was to answer an earlier message asking what could be done about testing the water for health reasons.
The CORPS conducts studies to evaluate a federal interest in all types of areas. Yess, we build dams, channels and practically anything the public requests, but there is one other thing that we do also. We perform ecosytem/environmental restorations also. I've read alot about the problems of keeping the springs clean and the numerous amounts of people that have heard of the springs in recent years. This number is definitely going to grow, and with more people, comes more problems. I'm not suggesting a recon study as a solution to any problems. Just another avenue or resource that might come in handy in the future. I like going to the springs and would love to see it unspoiled for future generations to enjoy. So relax and rest assured, I'm not promoting a move toward federal involvement. Have a nice day.
