I hiked down the Bradford ridge trail @ 5:00pm. and had a good conversation with a guy who was hauling the trash from the springs area. He said he had been at it for several months, I shared my whiskey with him and thanked him too many times. At about sundown we noticed Mike Castro with a back pack and sleeping bag on his backpack crossing the river. So logic would bring a reasonable person to believe he may be camping at the springs area tonight. What are the chances a ranger could run out and ticket Mr. Castro ? Perhaps I should have made a citizens arrest ? I was prepared for a confrontation with Mike, He wisely headed down stream from me avoiding me with a passion. I left the springs earlier than I had planned, wanting to avoid trouble too. The trail down the Bradford ridge has changed a lot from the fire and then the rains. I noticed several large trees in the area had burned and are now falling all over the forest. The spring along the trail is not flowing as much as in previous years. But it was still very nice to be there. I noticed no trash any where on my hike. Some trail angel has made signs saying : Volunteers please remove morons litter ! Thank you very much. All in all a very nice hike :-) OH, i HAVE MISTAKEN MIKE FOR HIS HALF BROTHER BEFORE. I was surprised at how much gray hair he has now. He said O K , but he had heard the guy was strange. Another guy replied that Mike was Nice until a Ranger showed up and had a talk with him. Then Mike ordered him to leave before sunset and was visably up set by some thing the Ranger said. He said that Mike mumbled some thing like he was going to close the place down and kick everyone out.
It was Mike at the springs with his girlfriend just before sunset. If it were not so he would not have fled like the crime animal he is. I am glad he has so much grey hair, girl friends do that to us older guys. I was fully ready for any of his s--- he was able to throw. Closer to earth, the illegal MC trespass within the Deep Creek/ Juniper Flats area remains problematic. Tracy certainly played a big role in putting Juniper Flats on the map as a location where irresponsible OHV use runs rampant.

If Mike Castro went hiking, who cares? Paul says this guys name is Tracy. I remember over a lot of years a guy named Tracy that I would see from time to time at DCHS, who many times had moto gear on, but no moto bike to be seen. I often wondered just where did this Tracy leave his moto. Did he walk all the way into the canyon from the nearest legal access for motos or vehicles, leaving his bike unattended there. Long way to walk in moto gear and moto boots, expecially in the summer. I'd bet he parked somewhere much closer. The illegal moto riding in public lands in areas around the Bowen Ranch and DCHS on the north side of the canyon is completely out of control.
