Juniper Flats has new route designations ?

Saturday, as I was going to the springs I wandered what happened to the signs for for the JF 4 & JF 3 roads. There were no signs posted. Saturday evening as I was leaving new signs were posted with very differant # s on them. They were hard to miss as they were posted every 100 yards. The old JF 3 is now JF 3380. Bowen ranch road is now JF 3310. The old JF 4 is now a part of Bowen Ranch road. When you get to the second gate at the 90 degree turn and second gate it is now JF 3320.
As usual, this will cause confusion for some. I am predisposed now and do not have time to surf web sites to get any more info on these changes. Maybe some one with some time on their hands can investigate and come up with a nugget of understanding about this.

Of course, others who chose the Bowen Ranch option are free to do so as long as they pay the troll.....ooops, I mean the toll. The numbering system and route designation signs are post WEMO signage and indicate an open route. All routes not posted with a numbered sign ase closed to motorized travel. Foot and equestrian travel are permitted however.

The old numbering system was logical, kinda. I suspect the suck asses want to get the bitter taste of Berry out of their mouth.
The end result is confusion for now and temptation for thefts.
I hope this is a first step to plans for road improvement.
Mike charges $5 for day use and $10 for campers. If that road is closed he could get even more, oh my.
On every new sign is an American flag and a slogan that says: Protecting America's resources. What do you think that means?
Perhaps that is the BLM's mission statement.
Additionally, some of the signs are in the Naional Forest, oh no !

JF 4 and Bowen ranch road is now JF 3310.
My concern is they may use the stolen sign issue as an excuse to deny us law abiding hot springers access. Again, helping Castro's bussiness and hurting us members of the 86 er's club or anyone wishing to visit our land.
Time will reveal the heart and mind of our new public servants. This will be a pivotal issue. Are they for the public interest or for dictatorship ? Using human nature, the bad guys, against us who are not for their own agenda.
We can only hope the new public sevants are good guys also.

Re: Juniper Flats has new route designations ?

Per WEMO implementation, BLM Park Ranger Art Basulto and the Restoration Crew student volunteers are posting signage advising of "Limited Use" (travel on signed open routes only). Open routes are being signed as part of this process and closed routes are being vertically mulched.

Although one "Limited Use" remains in the vicinity of Bowen Ranch, others are being removed, apparently by rogue motorcyclists. The main one at the Coxey Truck Trail kiosk had a very short life and is yet to be replaced.

Hopefully, the new open route signs on JF3 & JF4 around Bowen Ranch will remain in place. (In view of the "Limited Use" sign, the public would perceive JF3 and JF4 as closed if the open route signs are removed.)

Regarding the other matter, Tim called earlier this morning.

Thanks, Jobe!
