Still closed https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/lpnf/recarea/?recid=11062 I called the Ranger District and he confirmed the hot springs were severely damaged by the winter rains. He said they do not exist as before.by hiker - California Hot Springs

Made it to Gaviota again early Friday morning and Pirates Cove on Friday afternoon. Another just great experience. Had the hot springs to myself for the hour I was there. Single lane path has poison oak, but avoidable if you pay attention. At Pirates Cove I was swimming out in the bay when a sea lion splashed nearby (like 20 feet), then he surfaced and stared at me for 2 minutes. Very nice mby hiker - California Hot Springs
Gonna be hot this weekend. Be prepared, hike out at dusk if you go.by hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I was there on Friday, April 1. Nice day, nice crowd. Just a typical great relaxing day at the springs. In the morning, maybe 10 to 15 of us and increased during the day.by hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I am also not a fan, not much of a pool and really gets in the way of climbing up to the anniversary poolby hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Great soak and view, but flys and skeeters can be deadly just before sunset. Very good BBQ in Big Pineby hiker - California Hot Springs
I've been going through Bowen Ranch for years and never had a problem. But I always pay my $5 going in and go in and out within the hours listed. Mike charges $10 to spend the night or if you plan to leave after dark on the same day and his signs say this. One day I went in and paid $10 and told him I thought I would be leaving after dark, but wasn't sure. I ended up leaving at dusk. When Iby hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I just returned from my second trip to Saline Valley......Still Haven on earth..Roads were ok, but not as good as last year. Went in on South Pass in just over 2 hours from pavement. Out on North a couple days later, some snow and mud, but these weren't a problem.....Rocks were a problem! Have good tires and plug kit and fix a flat and full size spare(s). Great soaking, really nice people. Juby hiker - California Hot Springs

I was at DC on Saturday. We got there pretty early, 10ish and it was very mellow and nice. 5 or 6 cars at the ranch, maybe 15 folks or so at the springs. As the day went on more and more folks arrived and when we left mid afternoon it must have been 50 or more. There was a Young Natuiralist group that arrived just before we left. We passeed at least 10 more folks hiking down as we were goingby hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Ahh, my other favorite place. Im sure you had a great visit Neo.by hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I hiked to the springs on Saturday. Bowen Ranch Road was in good shape and there were 4 or 5 cars in the lot when we arrived. It was windy with a little rain on the hike down, but the springs were glorious. The creek was still quite low. The sun came out in the late AM and the soaking was great. Wonderful crowd; probably about 15 to 25 off and on during the day. The hot tubs felt great in theby hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hmmm....weekend vs weekday? I was at the springs Thursday afternoon. When I arrived at Bowen around 2;30 there were 2 cars in the lot. At the springs there were probably 10 folks there, all nude. When I left at 5:30, Wizard was there and maybe 4 others. When I got back to Bowen, mine was the only car left. I love Deep Creek all the time, but Deep Creek on a weekday in the fall or winter is bby hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
About a mile and half in from Highway 173 you cross a little canyon that is good for camping (34°20'6.47"N, 117°11'1.77"W). It is just before you start down the steep trail to the creek.by hiker - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I just returned from my first trip to Saline Valley......Wow, Heaven on earth...Locals say the roads are the best they have seen in years. We saw a small SUV pulling a small trailer pulling in. If you can..GO (but soon before it gets hot). Beautiful place, wonderful people. About 40 folks there on Saturday and Sunday, some left, others arrived, maybe 30 yesterday. Great weather, but windy Monby hiker - California Hot Springs
For another route to the springs go to the Deep Creek Vounteers website and look for "Directions". The route through Bowen Ranch inlcudes a 6 mile stretch of dirt road that is usually good, but can be tough if it has rained recently. http://www.deepcreekvolunteers.com/directions.htm#Simplest_Route Here is a Google Maps link. Here is a map from downtown LA to where the trail starts for the Bradford Ridge Path (at the "C". The actual Bradford Ridge Path (trail) is labeled on Google maps (north of the "C" if you zoom in a little). With this route you can drive on a paved road all the way to the trail, but if there is snow in Twin Peaks/Lake Arrowhead, you may need chains.
