The Borrego Ranch Resort & Spa is closing today. The resort, known from 1960 to 2008 as La Casa del Zorro, has long served as the signature lodging in the tiny, quirky San Diego County desert town of Borrego Springs. The name change came after a company led by Sherman Oaks entrepreneur Gregory Perlman bought the 42-acre, 63-room hotel, planning to market it in tandem with the neighboring Montesoro Golf & Social Club and residential development.http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/index.php/in-borrego-springs-c-6197/
