.A major storm system will move in from the Pacific on Friday,
bringing heavy rainfall and the potential of flash flooding to
Southern California Friday through Saturday with the greatest
impact period forecast to be Friday night.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON BELOW 6000 FEET...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southwest California...
including the following areas...Riverside County Mountains and
San Bernardino County Mountains below 6000 feet.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon

* A major Pacific storm will bring moderate to heavy rain to the
area. The rain is forecast to begin Friday during the day and
become widespread and heavy by Friday evening. The period of
greatest impact is forecast to be Friday evening through the
overnight hours when heavy rainfall is forecast. Storm total
rainfall amounts for the coastal mountain slopes is forecast to
range from 3 to 6 inches. Rainfall rates of a half an inch to
one inch per hour are possible, which could lead to flash
flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take
action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
