Rope crossing or pond crossing

Hi it's been a couple of years since I've been down to the springs. On the river side, there used to be a rope to help you across. Is one there now, or should we default to crossing the wider, placid part of the river on the other side? Also, just wondering if the water temp in the "pond" is warm enough to pass. I did it in January, LOL, so I guess it can't be too bad. Thanks.
