Joe, Best you check out either the arichives here where lots of what you have asked has been discussed in the past or better yet, a Deep Creek Hotsprings website with a good in depth summery already done. A book of Southern California Hotsprings would be a good source also. The first link below on this page " Deep Creek Hotsprings home page " has lots of information.
