Forest Service April Meetings

We have another chance to participate with the Forest Service concerning the update of the San Bernardino Forest Plan. I got the information straight from the horses' mouth.

I spoke to Gina Thompson on Friday concerning Deep Creek. She explained that she is the recreation officer in charge of Deep Creek. However, she was not planning to make a new recreational plan. We did speak about the trash and sanitation. She is considering having a bathroom near the springs. She said there are some trash details planned in the near future.

She did not know of any changes being planned for the use of the hotsprings area. She said Ruth Wenstrom is involved in the updating of the San Bernardino Forest Plan and there are workshops planned. I called Ruth Wenstrom and she provided the information on the meetings scheduled this month.

I advised Ruth Wenstrom that I wanted to be notified of all public meetings that affect the area. She assured me that she would correct her mailing list.

The law enforcement aspects of Deep Creek are handled by Allison Stewart or Ranger Brad Burns.
