I was at DCHS one weekend ago (26/27 September), and the creek crossing wasn't bad, at all. I'm about 6 feet tall, and the water was just above my knees. When you leave the beach, stay to your right a bit, and aim for the downstream edge of the biggest rock formation, and it's pretty shallow. You'll see a ring of small rocks that makes a warm pool...aim for that. Even straight across, although deeper, is not quite waist high to me. The easiest way to get up the rocks to the spring pools, or to go around the big formation to the Anniversary Pool is also at the downstream edge of the big rocks. Stay on either the sandy/gravel bottom, or on dry rock...don't try to step on underwater rocks, or you'll slip.
