The rattlesnake is generally disinterested in humans and will not be aggressive unless it is threatened in some way. However, there is a general perception among humans that rattlesnakes are "bad" and sooner or later this snake will be killed. They are territorial and this snake will probably not travel more than a 1/4 mile or so according to some experts who study them. Since we are visitors to their home, I encourage people to be respectful. I have found a peacefull co-existance is possible most of the time.
